Welcome! I`m a piano teacher, and I have been teaching music for many years. I currently teach all styles of music to over fifty students of all ages. It can be a challenge to keep students motivated. After all, it takes time to learn how to play an instrument, and many lessons. It can take many years to become an advanced player.
We won`t all have careers in music, but music is good for the soul, and making music enriches our lives in countless ways. Studies show that music even makes us smarter.
Once you have begun your weekly music lessons with a qualified music teacher you will realize that this will take some serious commitment on your part. You may become discouraged at some point. It may happen any time after lessons have started because progress tends to ebb and flow instead of remain constant, even if you put the time in.
So here are a few suggestions for you to try in order to keep motivated, inspired and to make your music lessons more fun. I hope you find these lists of ideas and tips helpful; they apply to students of all instruments.
